The idea to use
01 / Predict & test
No experiment yetAll starting conditions & model limits
A point projectile, flat floor, constant gravity and linear drag. Contact behavior is revealed after your prediction. No spin, deformation or real equipment. Distance is in metres, time in seconds. Positive x is right; positive y is up.
02 / Observe the movement
Awaiting predictionThe controls have changed. The evidence below still belongs to the saved experiment; run again to test the new settings.
Your experiment will appear here.
Only the launch is illustrated before you predict.
Playback selects computed states. It does not alter the physics. Pause or use arrow keys on the timeline.
x is distance right of launch; y is height above the floor, in metres. ax and ay are the rates of velocity change, in m/s². Linear drag scales with velocity; s⁻¹ means per second.
03 / Follow the cause

Here dt means elapsed seconds, and 0/1 means before/after that interval. These are the model’s expressions, not assembly or a native trace. The drag solver integrates between samples; it does not assume acceleration stays constant when drag is active.
Compare experiments
